I have just returned from my trip to Kenya and I am still enchanted by the impressions that this diverse country left behind. For us at Take Memories, it is very important to be on the ground ourselves to gather the latest impressions and stay in close contact with our partners. This time, my journey took me directly from Frankfurt to Nairobi, and after an uncomplicated entry into the country, the adventure could begin.

I am a huge fan of Kenya - the country is so diverse and has so much more to offer than just the famous Masai Mara. My first stop was Meru National Park in the north of the country. This beautiful park is criss-crossed by numerous rivers that provide plenty of drinking water all year round, making it home to an impressive variety of wildlife and birds. Over sundowners, the camp manager told us the story of Elsa, the famous lioness from the movie “Born Free”, who was released into the wild here by George and Joy Adamson. Hearing this story in its place of origin was a truly magical moment.

We continued on to the Lewa Conservancy, a paradise for rhino lovers. I have been on many safaris, but I have never seen so many rhinos at once as here. Our guide at Siriko Lodge led us through the vastness of the landscape, and in the nearby Borana Conservancy we experienced an unforgettable walking safari. Passing majestic elephants, we reached a breathtaking viewpoint on a rock, where we enjoyed the sunset with a gin & tonic - a perfect moment that showed us the vastness and beauty of Kenya.

Another highlight of my trip was the visit to the Masai Mara. The stories you hear about this nature reserve are more than confirmed when you experience this landscape for yourself. My stay at Mara Expeditions Camp, an intimate and luxurious tented camp, provided the perfect setting for spectacular animal sightings. After seeing only a few animals on our first day, we were more than compensated on the second day: a pair of leopards right in front of our vehicle - a rare and unforgettable sight. Shortly afterwards, we were able to watch four young lions feeding. A magical end to my time in the Masai Mara.

Kenya has enchanted me once again and I am already looking forward to my next African adventure. Let's see where it takes me next...

Freshly back from Namibia, a country full of contrasts, I can still feel the fascination that gripped me in these untamed expanses. Namibia is a country of extremes - from the endless dunes of Sossusvlei to the rugged coastline and the breathtaking remoteness of the Skeleton Coast. My journey took me to the most remote places, where I experienced a silence and tranquillity that is second to none. I started in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. The Weinberg Boutique Hotel offered me a relaxed and stylish start to my trip. If you want, you can take a city tour through Windhoek or use the city as...

National Parks Africa

Each national park takes you into a different dimension where time becomes meaningless. Herds of elephants move across the land like gray clouds, and the roar of lions at sunset can be heard for miles. These places are home to the majestic "Big Five", witnesses to the Great Migrations and sanctuaries for rare species found nowhere else on earth. Africa's national parks are not only landscapes that are home to life itself; they are also preservers of the cultures and stories that have been interwoven with this earth for centuries. They tell of the coexistence of man and nature, of traditions t...
