Luxury safari in Kenya
Itinerary
A warm welcome to Kenya
Today your unforgettable Kenya safari begins in the fascinating capital Nairobi. A highlight of your trip awaits you right at the start: the Giraffe Manor. A beautiful boutique hotel where you can have very special encounters with Rothschild giraffes. The animals live freely on the grounds, but have become accustomed to humans over the years. During breakfast or high tea, it is therefore not unusual for some of the giraffes to poke their heads in through the window. Look forward to unique encounters with the animals.
Breakfast with giraffes and a visit to the orphanage
After a hearty breakfast, you set off today for a special place - the Sheldrick orphanage for elephants. Baby elephants that have lost their mothers find refuge here. These are often ivory hunters who orphan the defenceless baby elephants. The work of the game rangers at the Sheldrick Orphanage is vital for these little elephants as they would probably not survive without help. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the work of the game rangers and perhaps you will become so fond of one of the little pachyderms that you will want to adopt one.
In the afternoon, you will return to Giraffe Manor, where you can end the day in comfort.
Samburu National Park
Today you continue your journey to the far north of Kenya, where open grass and thorn bush savannahs and rocky hills characterize the landscape. Your lodge for the next few days is located in the territory of the Samburu, a Nilotic people. Only a few places still offer the opportunity to experience African culture up close. Here in the Samburu National Park you get a particularly authentic insight into the traditional way of life of the Samburu.
Over the next few days, you will explore the area around Samburu National Park. Go on exciting bush walks where you can discover the little things of the wilderness, or get on the back of a camel and explore nature from a completely different perspective.
The Laikipia Plateau
After a delicious breakfast, you continue your Kenya trip and fly a little further south to the Laikipia Plateau. There you will be warmly welcomed and taken to your accommodation, Solio Lodge. This is located in the game reserve of the same name, which offers special protection for the rhinos that live there. In addition to these impressive animals, the reserve is also home to a variety of antelopes, wild cats and birds, making it the perfect place for safaris. Whether by jeep, on horseback or on foot - there are no limits to your adventurous spirit here. For an unforgettable experience, there is also the option of a helicopter flight over the impressive landscape all the way to Lake Turkana.
Masai Mara
The last stop of your round trip is approaching. Enjoy a last breakfast before you are driven to the airstrip and fly to the Masai Mara. Part of the ecosystem of the famous Serengeti and the site of the Great Migration, the Masai Mara is the destination of millions of animals every year as they migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the lush grasslands of Kenya before returning. The peak of this migration is typically experienced between July and October, when the animals cross the Mara River. However, the Masai Mara also offers plenty of wildlife sightings during exciting game drives at other times of the year. No matter what time you visit the Masai Mara, your safari will definitely be a crowning finale to your Kenya trip.
Day of departure
Today it's time to say goodbye, your time in Kenya is coming to an end. After a last breakfast in the middle of the Kenyan wilderness, it is time to head home. If you wish, you can also extend your safari with a stay on the beach.
