Arrival in East Africa

Upon your arrival in Nairobi, you will spend two nights in a quiet suburb of the city. Here, your journey begins relaxed – with time to arrive and take in first impressions. The next day, you will visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust orphanage, where orphaned elephants are lovingly raised. A detour to the Giraffe Centre is also on the agenda. Both places are very close to each other and offer touching encounters with Kenya's wildlife. In the evening, you will return to the hotel and wind down the day with a good meal.

River Crossings and Predators

Morning mist still hangs over the river. Somewhere, a jackal calls. You’re in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve – where the migration comes alive. From July to October, herds cross the river in dramatic scenes, but even outside this window the reserve offers outstanding wildlife. Lions rest beneath acacias, elephants move through the grasslands, and cheetahs scan from termite mounds. Every game drive brings a different pace, every sighting a different story.

Endless Plains and Big Cats

A short flight takes you into the southeast of the Serengeti – remote, open, and known for its predators. The scenery stretches far, dotted with low acacia trees and seasonal streams. Cheetahs and lions are commonly seen here, as are hyenas and vultures. Depending on the season, the migration may be nearby, but the real draw is the feeling: a raw, uncluttered connection with the land.

Walking Safaris and Wilderness

Ruaha is vast, quiet, and truly wild. Few visitors make it this far, which makes the experience even more rewarding. Baobab forests, rocky outcrops, sand rivers and open plains set the scene. Elephants are ever-present, large lion prides roam freely, and rare antelope species like roan and sable thrive here. You explore by vehicle and on foot – with expert guides who know how to read the bush. It’s an immersive finale for those who seek depth and authenticity.

05 Pemba Island

Relaxation by the Indian Ocean

On the last morning in Ruaha, there is time for a moment of quiet reflection. Just one last look into the vastness, one last coffee in the bush – then the journey continues. If desired, you can end your trip here and fly back to Europe.

Otherwise, your safari experience can beautifully conclude by the Indian Ocean. The island of Pemba presents itself as particularly calm and unspoiled: with empty beaches, turquoise water, and small lodges where privacy is prioritized. Snorkeling, swimming, reading – or simply doing nothing. Pemba is not a classic beach destination, but a retreat. Ideal for letting all the impressions sink in.
