Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp

Okonjima Bush Camp is a nature reserve that has joined the AfriCat Foundation. This non-profit organisation serves to protect endangered predators - particularly leopards and cheetahs, but also many other animal species that live there. With the Omboroko sandstone mountains in the background, the camp impresses with an area of around 20,000 hectares, which extends over the entire site. Thanks to its animal visitors, who are attracted by a waterhole, this reserve offers unforgettable experiences. Look forward to experiencing Africa authentically and up close and enjoy a luxurious and lovingly designed ambience.

Location

Situated between the Namibian capital Windhoek and the Etosha National Park, this area around the town of Otjiwarongo is home to leopards, brown hyena and pangolins, among many other animals. The camp can be reached via the airport in Windhoek and a subsequent two-and-a-half-hour drive or by plane to Okonjima's own airstrip.

Activities

As the camp attracts various animal species, game viewing can be done from the cosy private or public lounge areas of Okonjima Bush Camp. The latter is equipped with both an indoor and outdoor fireplace and provides a romantic idyll, especially in the evening hours. The pool area also allows for relaxed sunbathing and welcome cooling off. The separate area resembles a small oasis with its green space and palm trees and revives classic holiday feelings in the middle of the safari area. But game drives are of course also the order of the day here: experienced guides lead you through the acacia thicket in the hope of catching a glimpse of the rare leopards. Hikes and wild bird watching are also part of your African adventure. To round things off, the AfriCat Carnivore Care & Information Centre provides interesting insights into the work of the foundation.
