High up among the scattered boulders on Kogakuria Kopje, Lamai Serengeti overlooks the endless expanse of the African bush. Situated high in the north of the Serengeti National Park, the region around the camp offers exceptional opportunities to experience Africa's wild animals up close. The so-called Lamai Wedge lies between the Maasai Mara and the Mara River and is a hotspot for the Great Migration between July and October. With its semi-massive structures, the Lamai Serengeti is very comfortably equipped and offers a high standard that will convince even experienced safari vacationers. At the same time, the camp's team is committed to local charitable projects that benefit the conservation of natural beauty and the education and health of the local people.

Rooms

The structure and design of the eight luxurious cottages at Lamai Serengeti have been adapted to the natural lines of the wonderful landscape. Great care has been taken to ensure that guests have a unique view of the savannah and its inhabitants from their private verandas, while at the same time guaranteeing maximum privacy. Each room has a king-size bed under a mosquito net and is decorated in natural and bright colors. A rustic wooden floor and thick carpets ensure a cozy atmosphere, while the open front, which is protected by a mosquito net, allows the inside and outside to merge. The particularly spacious en-suite bathrooms have a WC and a shower with hot water on request. Three of the rooms are also particularly suitable for families thanks to a separate children's area.

Culinary

The communal area in the heart of Lamai Serengeti is spacious, open and decorated in bright colors. Comfortable lounge furniture invites you to relax and chat before dinner in the cool evening breeze or by the warming fire in the winter months. A well-stocked bar with another seating area is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif or an after-dinner drink under the stars. The entire dining area is designed so that you can enjoy breathtaking views over the savannah from every angle. Breakfast and lunch are served at individual tables or can be taken as a picnic in the bush if you have a long day on safari. Dinner is traditionally served at a long table and consists of three excellent courses. At Lamai Serengeti there is both an open-air and a sheltered dining area.

Activities

The northern Serengeti promises an extraordinary safari experience. In open off-road vehicles, you not only feel the direct proximity to nature, but can also capture unique photo opportunities. Especially during the Great Migration, the guides will try to bring their guests close to the herds around the Mara River, where they may be able to observe one of the spectacular river crossings. You can get even closer to the untouched bush on a guided walk, which gives adventurers an even better feel for the landscape formations and the diverse flora and fauna. Depending on the age of the children and their interests, special programs are also planned for families so that the little ones can experience their very own adventures. After a long day in the bush under the African sun, you can relax for a siesta on the day bed in your room or take a cooling dip in the swimming pool.

Location

Lamai Serengeti Camp is located in the Lamai Wedge in the north of the Serengeti National Park near the border with Kenya. In contrast to the southern Serengeti, which dries out seasonally, it is lush and green here all year round. In addition to the Great Migration between July and October, lions, leopards, zebras, gazelles, antelopes and giraffes can also be observed here.
